Jahan earned his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, in condensed matter theory. During his graduate studies, he was an intern at the NASA quantum computing group, where he worked on benchmarking quantum computers, as well as an intern at QC Ware, where he worked on analytic guarantees for the quantum approximate optimization algorithm.
Following his graduate studies, Jahan was a YQI Postdoctoral Fellow in the Puri group at Yale, where he researched tailored error correction protocols for specific qubit hardware. After his postdoc, he worked at Google Quantum AI on numerical modelling of error correction experiments. Recently, along with Jeff Thompson and Sebastian Horvath, he co-founded the quantum computing company Logiqal, which is seeking to build a large-scale quantum computer with neutral atoms. At Logiqal, Jahan works on system architecture, error correction, and error-corrected quantum compilation.

He was a RQS team member, served on the RQS Student Postdoc Council, and was instrumental in planning the RQS Summer School.
