Bio

Ian Spielman is a physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and an adjunct professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Maryland. He is also a Fellow of the Joint Quantum Institute, where he leads a research group whose experiments lie at the intersection of condensed matter and atomic physics, realizing many-body systems with systems of ultra-cold atoms. Spielman received his doctorate in physics from Caltech in 2004.
