Bio
Kaavya Sahay is a third-year PhD student advised by Shruti Puri in the Applied Physics department at Yale University. Her research involves designing hardware-tailored quantum error correcting (QEC) strategies to reduce the overhead to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation (FTQC). Specifically, she has worked on photonic cluster-state QEC models tailored to biased noise, high-threshold FTQC protocols for biased erasures in neutral atoms, and benchmarking logical gate methods for surface codes. She is excited about the opportunity to explore tailored-QEC and quantum simulation methods.
