Bio
Andrew Childs is the director of the NSF Quantum Leap Challenge Institute for Robust Quantum Simulation. He is also a professor of computer science and interim director of the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies. Additionally, Childs is a fellow in the Joint Center for Quantum Information and Computer Science and served as its co-director from 2014–2024. His main research interests are in the theory of quantum information processing, especially quantum algorithms. Childs received his doctorate in physics from MIT in 2004.
